Being a Member of The Croftery Community



The below articles outline what it means to be a seller and a member of Croftery. Please read carefully, as failure to comply may initiate investigations to review a seller’s standing on the platform, which can lead to the termination of an account.

Managing your Croftery Shop

By selling on Croftery, you agree that you will:

  1. Provide honest, accurate information in your store and products.
  2. Honor your shop policy.
    1. Delivery options
    2. Payment options
    3. Returns & exchanges
    4. Privacy policy
    5. More information
  3. Ensure your shop content, such as any text, photos or videos used to represent yourself, your shop or your listings, abide by Croftery’s policies, including our Anti-Discrimination policy.
  4. Not engage in fee avoidance. Any exchanges through Croftery should only be limited to Croftery. 
  5. Not coordinate pricing with other sellers.

Seller Standards 

By listing a product for sale on Croftery you understand and agree that you are responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations for the products you list for sale, including any required labels, warnings, handling, allergens, and production environment. You must maintain hygiene and food safety as dictated by the WSDA.  Croftery assumes no responsibility for the handling, accuracy, labeling, or content of your listings/products. It is highly recommended that all sellers obtain insurance for their business.

Meeting Service Level Standards

As a seller, you must provide excellent customer service and maintain trust with your buyers. It is recommended to notate proof of transaction or delivery, as well as any anomalies for unforeseen circumstances. 

By selling on Croftery, you agree to:

  1. Honor your shipping and processing times. Sellers are obligated to ship an item or otherwise complete a transaction with a buyer in a prompt manner, unless there is an exceptional circumstance.
  2. Respond to Messages in a timely manner.
  3. Honor the commitments you make in your shop policies.
  4. Resolve disagreements or disputes directly with the buyer. In the unlikely event that you can’t reach a resolution, Croftery will help and intervene. 
  5. If you are unable to complete an order, you must notify the buyer and cancel the order (in which case, communicate to the customer, take your product off stock, and notify us to initiate a full refund).
Customer Interaction
You will have the opportunity to interact with the end customer by providing them your product. This may be through shipping, delivery, or pickup. You must follow all safety protocols for COVID while interacting with the customer and engage in a respectful and safe manner. You must not contact the buyer for non-product related interactions unless mutually agreed. You must also be aware and responsible for your own safety. If a customer interacts in an unsafe/unacceptable manner, please dial 911, abandon the order, and inform us. Please note that there will be spontaneous and random orders by members of Croftery to ensure high standards of the seller.

Selling Fees & Payments

Sellers may be charged for using some of Croftery’s services. The fees are associated with a percentage commission rate for all products sold. 

Transaction Fees

When you make a sale through, you will be charged a transaction fee of 3.1% of the price you display for each listing. If you offer optional personalization for an additional fee, the additional fee for personalization is added to the listing price you display. This rate is a promotional offer that applies until August 1st 2021. Starting August 2nd 2021, Croftery will charge a 10% commission rate for each transaction.


Aside from the limited circumstances set out below, you are responsible for collecting and paying any taxes associated with using and making sales through Croftery’s services.


All approved payments will go through a holding period of 7 days, then all held capital will be distributed to the seller when the seller makes a request to withdraw.

Being a Member of The Croftery Community 

At Croftery, everyone is expected to treat fellow members of the Croftery community with respect. As a seller, you have additional responsibilities to safeguard personal information and communicate promptly with buyers in order to provide a great customer experience.

Creating and Uploading Content

As a member of Croftery, you have the opportunity to create and upload a variety of content, like listings, messages, text, reviews, and photos. In order to keep our community safe and respectful, you agree that you will not upload content that is:

  • Abusive, threatening, defamatory, harassing, or otherwise in violation of our Anti-Discrimination Policy;
  • Obscene or vulgar;
  • In violation of someone else’s privacy or intellectual property rights; 
  • or False, deceptive, or misleading.

Privacy and Protecting Personal Information

You are responsible for protecting members’ personal information you receive or process, and you must comply with all relevant legal requirements. This includes applicable data protection and privacy laws that govern the ways in which you can use Croftery user information. These laws may require that you post and comply with your own privacy policy, which must be accessible to Croftery users with whom you interact. Your privacy policy must be compatible with this policy and Croftery’s Terms of Use.

In particular, when you sell using Croftery, you may receive and determine what to do with certain personal information, such as when communicating with users and entering into transactions with buyers. This means you process personal information (for example, buyer name, email address, and shipping address) and, to the extent you do so, you are an independent controller of data relating to other users that you may have obtained through the Services. As a data controller (that is someone who decides what personal data is collected and the purpose you’ll use the data for) to the extent that you process user personal information outside of the Services, you may be required under applicable data protection and privacy laws to honor requests received from such users for data access, portability, correction, deletion, and objections to processing.

Furthermore, if you disclose personal information without the buyer’s proper consent, you are responsible for that unauthorized disclosure. This includes, for example, disclosures you make or unintentional data breaches. Without the buyer’s consent, and subject to other applicable Croftery policies and laws, you may not add any Croftery member to your email or physical mailing list, use that buyer’s identity for marketing, or obtain or retain any payment information. Please bear in mind that you’re responsible for knowing the standard of consent required in any given instance. If Croftery and you are found to be joint data controllers of personal information, and if Croftery is sued, fined, or otherwise incurs expenses because of something that you did in your capacity as a joint data controller of buyer personal information, you agree to indemnify Croftery for the expenses it occurs in connection with your processing of buyer personal information.


We will be using Facebook, Instagram, Google, YouTube, and other methods (such as physical flyers) to advertize Croftery and its sellers. In doing so, we will be highlighting some of our sellers by sharing pictures of their food, their logo, their company name, the general area they’re located (without revealing the exact location), approved messages, and approved pictures/videos, etc. By using Croftery, you agree to the above means of advertising. If you are not okay with it, please let us know. We will be representing your brand in a positive manner to the extent of our knowledge. If there are any issues, we will discuss them together, and we are not liable for any damages.
